learning to fly

...flying had always been happiness for ladybug
she zipped around the garden, flapping here wings in ecstasy-
at the many wonders of nature around her
the wonderful flowers in full splendor &
the delicious little insects that lived upon
the stem and leaf of each flower.
but one sunny day a human picked up the
delicate ladybug and shrieked "Looook mummy-
I found a bug!" and as she said this closed her
fingers gently over the ladybug & some children find
it hard to be gentle and this child squeezed a wee
bit too hard and one of the ladybug's intricate
wings became crushed..the child did not
notice of course for she was showing her mother
the beautiful bug- the child eventually lay the
disgruntled ladybug upon an oak leaf & ran
off to play with her kitten; the poor ladybug had to
walk wherever she went from then on but just the
other day, someone snapped a photo of her; sailing
                             away on a weed tuft~
