united with magic

She had this thing for magic.. It intrigued her. She loved to explore old myths, legends, and fairy tales- longing to be a part of them and many times wondering how those characters in the stories felt about all this magic. Ever since being born, this ten year old child lived in a world of make-believe. I'm not saying that is all she did; she still attended school and lived in a quaint little town in England with her family. A mother and father loved her dearly as did her younger brother. (Although he would never admit it)
Each day when the weather was fine, this girl picked up her cat and set her in the wagon. This is where the make-believe would begin. The wagon became a magical coach and the cat turned into a ferocious beast of a lion. The lion obeyed her, but snarled at any one or thing that might just be the enemy. The girl would sit in the carriage and the beast wold lope along outside, just ready to pounce on anything its master commanded. The girl would play in this fashion until it was time for afternoon tea. But sometimes she got much to carried away into the world of Fantasy and did not return until supper. This worried her mother slightly.
One afternoon when it was nearing time to return for tea, the girl stumbled upon a tree root in the forest and fell to the ground. She sat up and looked around dazedly. How would a dignified princess act in this scenario she wondered. As she was sitting on the ground, she noticed a dirty gold coin half-buried in the moss 'neath her hand. Her mouth opened and became shaped like an obese 'O' her light green eyes looked the same. A sunbeam sifted through the foliage and high-lighted the coin. She picked it up and studied the surface. Turning it over and over, she moistened the coin and polished it with her garment. In truth this was a Canadian one dollar coin, but since she had never been to Canada, she had no idea. The girl believed this gold coin was a gift from some kind of fairy or good witch. She pocketed the coin and kept on with her make-believe sessions for many more years. Convinced that there was true magic in this world..
