as down from a duckling
Overnight- my world transformed
into a beautiful scene.
Snowflakes- landed on everything
imaginable & the wind
frolicked, danced and swirled
the fluffy particles
into the air.
I stepped- out into this snow-globe world
with a broom in hand.
My plans included;
starting my car
and sweeping the
whimsical dust from its roof, etc.
2 hours later- I drove down the historic
main street of my home city.
in awe of the everything
many people clearing sidewalks
others struggling thru thigh-deep
snow to open their businesses
& shops for the morning.
I puffed- through the snow and watched it swirl
around my boots while I carried
jugs of water to thirsty citizens.
A smile- lit up my face as I greeted customers
this snow put me in a good mood
for some reason. even tho' it made
things like driving a car with summer
tires, quite abit more challenging.
Right now- I AM happy for this winter season
we shall see how long this happines
lasts :)

glory of gloves
The day is cold. You awake; you struggle beneath your warm comforter (aka blanket) Then you arise. Your tingling feet come in contact with the throw rug on the hardwood floor and you climb out of your slumbering cocoon. Out the window your eyes wander, the world out there looks frozen and sprinkled with snow. Is this truly the season? But; the shades in the east of colors full of splendor and warmth make the flicker of a smile play across your lips. You leave the scene for just a moment and step into the shower. The steamy water embraces your body and squeezes the chill right out. Ahhh~
All too soon, it seems, your time of warmth is over and the world of cooler temperatures is just waiting to have you back. Some everyday clothes are climbed into by you. Then off to the kitchen you go to prepare a cup of tea; sweetend with a shining drop of honey. (thanks be to the bee!) With a thermos in your hand you get bundled up in a coat. And then you think in your head- "Glory be-! ..for gLoves! that iLoves!"
So onto your hands go those handy contraptions. Your day seems much brighter and you almost look forward to the crisp scene waiting for you behind the closed door. Because; your hands will stay WARM*

xanthic glow
![]() |
Leaves; they are tired of staying up in the tree. leaves float down.. -and the sky is beautiful in the morning it gLows a radiant color it is easier for me to get out of bed when the sky is brilliant orange or bluish purple or gold. & in the evening- Woah! that is a most glorious sight as well..the dust from the harvesting of fields wisps around through the air & is very willing to CATCH particles of light and make them glow the water is slightly too cold to relax in but it becomes a reflective mirror with floating leaves of crimson & gold stuck to its surface. Canadian geese honk and flap their powerful wings as they fly south in their famous alphabetical letter. then take a rest in a pond field Autumn! you are my favorite season you bring joy to my heart and thrill to my soul You. I shall enjoy 'til the colder winds blow and the snowflakes fly & the roads turn to (ice) Then we shall hot things like lattes and hot chocalate to defrost.. WE shall discuss that then~ ... .. |

dahlia dive
A the entrance of the Garden Center of Wal-mart in Camrose, there stands an elderly man. He is known to many as "the Greeter." As I walked into the Garden Center with my mother today, the elderly man, (he didn't have a name tag on today so that is why I cannot use his true name) said hello to both of us.
We then went on to look at some fire bowls and chimeneas for patio fireplaces. Approximately seven mintues after our arrival, a small gust of wind blew through the open door. It knocked a top-heavy dahlia off the top shelf and nearly on top of the poor greeter's head! He had a small scare as you can imagine. Calmly; he picked up the dahlia (which had not been damaged in its swift dive) and set it gently back on the shelf, this time leaning against a stone water fountain. Next he proceeded to get a broom to sweep up the potting soil which had not stayed potted during the recent fall, then swept up some more junk on the floor which had been dropped by a former passer-by. I thought to myself, "How wonderful it is to have such a well-trained employee! If I were the manager, I would be pleased..."
