as down from a duckling

      Overnight- my world transformed
                       into a beautiful scene.

      Snowflakes- landed on everything
                          imaginable & the wind
                          frolicked, danced and swirled
                          the fluffy particles
                          into the air.

I stepped- out into this snow-globe world
                       with a broom in hand.
                       My plans included;
                       starting my car
                       and sweeping the
whimsical dust from its roof, etc.

2 hours later- I drove down the historic
main street of my home city.
                           in awe of the everything
                           many people clearing sidewalks
                           others struggling thru thigh-deep
                           snow to open their businesses
                           & shops for the morning.

I puffed- through the snow and watched it swirl
around my boots while I carried
jugs of water to thirsty citizens.

A smile- lit up my face as I greeted customers
this snow put me in a good mood
for some reason. even tho' it made
things like driving a car with summer
                    tires, quite abit more challenging.

Right now- I AM happy for this winter season
we shall see how long this happines
                        lasts :)

full of hot air

A party planned in the park to watch the hot air balloons light up the night sky.
the blustery wind made this observation unsuccessful- but the star-gazing
                                             made up for any sadness.

sleep through the night & dream
                                                                              of floating~
                                         {in a hot air balloon someday}

arise at dawn to complete chores..
little brother awakes to play with kittens.
then to the top of the hill we go to
scan the northern horizon through the pale pink mist-
& we SEE!  objects floating softly through the sky.
how magical they seem..we do not stay atop the hill for long.

Home we rush to change into non-farm clothes.
I give wee one's hair a douse of water and a quick comb.
into the silver car we climb and down the road we go-!
many times we stop to stare above and around us_ what a sight!

                                  hot air balloons~
the morning feels just right for coffee, so we stop and a pumpkin spice latte

goes down with ease and comfort.

                          the display of hot air
was so glorious that we went again for the sunset show
watched the air balloons slowly rise up into the sunset and fly away..

xanthic glow

Leaves; they are tired of staying up in the tree.
leaves
float down..

-and the sky is beautiful
in the morning
it gLows a radiant color
it is easier for me to get out of bed when the sky
is brilliant orange

or bluish purple
or gold.

& in the evening-
Woah! that is a most
glorious sight as well..the
dust from the harvesting of fields
wisps around through the
air
&
is very willing to
CATCH
particles of light and
make them glow

the water is slightly
too cold to
relax in
but
it becomes a reflective
mirror with floating leaves
of
crimson & gold
stuck to its surface.

Canadian geese honk and flap their powerful
wings as they fly south in their
famous alphabetical letter.
then take a rest in
a pond
field

Autumn!
you are my favorite season
you bring joy to my heart
and thrill to my soul
You.
I shall enjoy
'til the colder winds blow
and the snowflakes
fly
&
the roads turn to
(ice)

Then we shall hot things
like lattes and hot chocalate
to defrost..

WE shall discuss that
then~
...

equestrian swim

Now that the season of summer has finally arrived; I try to swim as much as possible! Swimming is one of my favorite past times...iLove to just get into that water and cool off. And then going under water is a another whole world to explore. A world of quietness. A sanctuary where a person can be alone and be soothed by the cool-ness and stillness. But one of the main things that a person should be thinking about while they are submerged, is coming up for oxygen! Don't let yourself get hypnotized and stay underwater forever.. (I don't really think this feat is possible but please don't try it)
What do you think of the picture above? I was intrigued by the thought of swimming with a horse in such clear water and I imagine 'twould be enjoyable~ Someday maybe my chance shall come to try it... Enjoy summer while it lasts!

vacation beauty

Here I AM. At the capital city of British Columbia! I never knew this city would be so enchanting~ Our family is staying in Hotel Rialto in downtown Victoria with the harbour front only a block or so away. So we either walk down all the old-style streets or take the water taxis. The Parliment Building and the Fairmont Empress Hotel are two of my favorite buildings; so full of antique charm...iLove all the quaint coffee shops and wonderful shops that line the streets. Another joyous thing was the ride from Vancouver on the BC Ferries. That was the biggest ship I have been on. Tomorrow we plan to visit the famous Butchart Gardens which I AM sure I'll enjoy. One of my best things is getting up early to go shopping and watch the city awake. And everyone who works in the shops and stores is so friendly and loves to talk. The boy that writes this is pleased. If you have never experienced this epic Canadian city, put it on your bucket list and get hopping! You'll love it--
