full of hot air

            A party planned in the park to watch the hot air balloons light up the night sky.
  the blustery wind made this observation unsuccessful- but the star-gazing 
                                             made up for any sadness.


                               sleep through the night & dream
                                                                              of floating~
                                         {in a hot air balloon someday}


      arise at dawn to complete chores..
                         little brother awakes to play with kittens.
                           then to the top of the hill we go to
           scan the northern horizon through the pale pink mist-
                                  & we SEE!  objects floating softly through the sky.
   how magical they seem..we do not stay atop the hill for long.


                   Home we rush to change into non-farm clothes.
                   I give wee one's hair a douse of water and a quick comb.
                into the silver car we climb and down the road we go-!
       many times we stop to stare above and around us_ what a sight!

             the morning feels just right for coffee, so we stop and a pumpkin spice latte


                                goes down with ease and comfort.

                    was so glorious that we went again for the sunset show              
    watched the air balloons slowly rise up into the sunset and fly away..

  This book; (Arm in Arm by Remy Charlip)
is a favorite for me~  It is full of amazing pictures, crazy stories, and circular poems that never do end..
  
    Remy Charlip must be one clever man- the stuff in this book is so fantastic and wonderful in an abnormal way!


   My Auntie Linda gave me an old hard-cover copy of this book and that's the first time I had heard of it or seen it..
  I was instantly excited & purchased two more paperbacks online at Chapters. It's nice to be surrounded with great things and these books are definitely great! Click here to order 1 or 2 or even 3 for yourself..


Okay that's probably enough of me talking about this book because I wouldn't want to make it sound really exciting and you'd be disappointed--

quick departure

    Today my good friend Shawn asked me if I would like to come with him to Enderby, British Columbia tomorrow.. I considered this option and said yes. So I drive to Calgary alone tomorrow to meet him. I park my car and we journey on together. Then Monday evening I fly out of Kelowna at 8:30 pm and arrive in Calgary at 10:25 then drive back home alone~ so now if you wonder where I AM, you know! (approximately)

                                                                        (in my opinion)


                                           I appreciate the bravery of the pilots,
                                                        I admire their skills with admiration :)
               and I thank God for the green grass that I could sit on 
        to watch this show

after work today I tried my hand at paddle boarding..

dahlia dive

A the entrance of the Garden Center of Wal-mart in Camrose, there stands an elderly man. He is known to many as "the Greeter." As I walked into the Garden Center with my mother today, the elderly man, (he didn't have a name tag on today so that is why I cannot use his true name) said hello to both of us.
We then went on to look at some fire bowls and chimeneas for patio fireplaces. Approximately seven mintues after our arrival, a small gust of wind blew through the open door. It knocked a top-heavy dahlia off the top shelf and nearly on top of the poor greeter's head! He had a small scare as you can imagine. Calmly; he picked up the dahlia (which had not been damaged in its swift dive) and set it gently back on the shelf, this time leaning against a stone water fountain. Next he proceeded to get a broom to sweep up the potting soil which had not stayed potted during the recent fall, then swept up some more junk on the floor which had been dropped by a former passer-by. I thought to myself, "How wonderful it is to have such a well-trained employee! If I were the manager, I would be pleased..."
